Luce Dipinta returned to Palais Campofranco in Bolzano to present a stunning projection mapping celebrating a timeless love story.

The story followed Leopoldine Hofmann and Archduke Heinrich, son of Archduke Rainer, who had founded the Bolzano flower market on 1 May. Leopoldine, a renowned singer at the Graz Opera, captivated audiences with her stage presence—and also impressed Archduke Heinrich, a high-ranking visitor to the opera. The couple married quietly, without the usual pomp and ceremony.

As a wedding gift, Empress Sissi gave them the ginkgo tree from the palace. Heinrich temporarily lost his rank and possessions, but Emperor Franz Josef II later reinstated him into the imperial family after the birth of their daughter, Maria Raineria, and ennobled Leopoldine as Baroness of Waidek. They lived happily in Bolzano. Their enduring love continued even in death: they both passed away from pneumonia overnight in Vienna in 1891. Leopoldine is the great-great-grandmother of the current owner of Palais Campofranco, Count Georg Kuenburg.

The Christmas projection ran during the Bolzano Christmas Market from 25 November 2022 until 6 January 2023, showing every hour from 18:00 to 22:00, with a final show at 22:20.

Visitors experienced a magical combination of history, love, and light, projected onto the historic facade of Palais Campofranco.
