Projection Mapping & Immersive Projection Installations

I design and create immersive projection installations for both indoor and outdoor spaces. I work with architectural surfaces and traditional screens, and I also create single-screen and multi-screen presentations. My projects appear in museums, corporate events, and arts festivals. In addition, I use setups ranging from a single projector to complex multi-projector systems that combine sound and motion.

My installations have appeared internationally. For example, I created content for a major opening event in Dubai, created a projection which was at EXPO 2015 in Milan. And I have presented at several projection festivals. These include the Water Light Festival (Brixen/Bressanone, 2019), Lana Lights Festival (2015), Diafestival (Meldola), Fantadia Festival (Asolo), and Chelles Multiphot near Paris. Moreover, each event allowed me to explore new visual approaches.

Projection mapping, also known as video mapping, uses projectors to place images exactly on a surface. As a result, the visuals match the shape and size of the structure. Immersive projection installations, however, take this further. They surround viewers with moving visuals, and therefore create a strong sense of presence. Because of this, audiences feel more involved and engaged.

Projection mapping continues to grow because it transforms spaces for both large and small audiences. It can turn simple surfaces into interactive displays; furthermore, it adds colour, texture, and emotion to any environment. In many cases, it feels like painting with light. You can project almost anything, from sponsor logos to cinematic stories. In addition, immersive projection installations strengthen these creative ideas, and consequently make events more memorable and exciting.

Artists, advertisers, and event producers use projection mapping for many purposes. They often animate still objects, add movement, or build visual illusions. They also combine video with sound to guide the story and trigger timed moments. Because of this, projection mapping works well as a storytelling tool.

Projection mapping fits concerts, theatre shows, award ceremonies, advertising campaigns, and many other types of events. You can align virtual content with real objects using software; alternatively, you can do it through careful manual work. Immersive projection installations scale easily from a single projector to a large multi-projector system. Consequently, they create powerful experiences for audiences of any size.
