Christmas Mapping at Palais Campofranco 2022

Luce Dipinta were invited back to present another projection mapping a the facade within the Palais Campofranco in Bolzano.

A love story in Campofranco.

Leopoldine Hofmann and Archduke Heinrich, son of Archduke Rainer (who started the Bolzano flower market on 1 May), have a connection. Leopoldine is a singer at the Graz Opera. She has a great stage presence that delights the audience and also impresses a high-ranking visitor to the opera, Archduke Heinrich. The couple gets married without the usual pomp and ceremony. Empress Sissi gives them the ginkgo tree from the palace as a wedding gift. Heinrich loses his rank and possessions before Emperor Franz Josef II reinstates him to the imperial family after the birth of their daughter Maria Raineria and ennobles Leopoldine as Baroness of Waidek. They live happily in Bolzano. Their deaths were as touching as their enduring love: they died of pneumonia overnight in Vienna in 1891. Leopoldine is the great-great-grandmother of the current owner of Palais Campofranco, Count Georg Kuenburg.
